Creative snacks that kids can make themselves seem to go over the best for most families. These watermelon pizzas are so much fun for kids to build with a little help from an adult. Some Fit Kids Factory Summer Campers made these pizzas and the kids had a blast with them! You can choose whatever toppings you’d like – we used some grapes, strawberries, blueberries and dark chocolate chip morsels.
- 1 ripened, seedless watermelon
- 1 container Greek vanilla yogurt (watch sugar content, some can really be high in sugar!)
- 1 container strawberries
- 1 bag seedless red grapes
- 1 container blueberries
- 1 bag dark chocolate chip morsels
- Thoroughly wash all fruit - including outside of watermelon
- Slice watermelon in ¼ inch rounds so that the piece of watermelon is in the shape of a circle
- Cut grapes in half
- Remove stem from strawberries and slice into pieces
- Put all fruit into small bowls
- To build watermelon pizza:
- Have kids work in teams to add toppings - one slice of watermelon will serve at least 2 kids (slice it into 4 pieces of "pizza"
- Add Greek yogurt first so that all other toppings stick
- Add toppings of choice
- Slice into 4 equal pieces
- One watermelon will serve at least 20 kids if they each eat 1-2 slices of watermelon.
