Meet Coach Laura

Hello friend!  Thanks for visiting my website!  I am honored that you stopped by to check it out and hope you find some useful information as you browse.  I am a wife to my husband, Charlie, and a mom to my two kids, Addison and Quinn.  We live as a family outside of Pittsburgh, PA with our crazy boxers,  Auggie and Myla.  I have a Masters Degree in Professional Counseling and spent nearly twenty years in the Mental Health field.  After quite some time in the MH field I decided to merge my skillset with my passion for wellness, health and fitness.  I began my own business, Comeback Fitness, LLC, and began dedicating my skills to helping other women reclaim their health and become more confident in their comeback.  I am a Holistic Wellness Counselor helping women reclaim their lives from chronic inflammation, illness, injuries, and social or emotional concerns through a functional, holistic approach.  

As I moved through the mental health field I realized how much social and emotional wellness play a key role in our physical health.  Living with Rheumatoid Arthritis has caused some major setbacks along my health journey.  I’ve had both knees replaced, one hip replaced, and multiple other knee surgeries as a result of worn out joints.  Chronic inflammation has wreaked havoc on my body for years.  Over the years I have learned so much about my health, gut stability, fitness modifications, and fresh & clean  living.  I have made major changes in my nutrition and fitness and it has had a major impact on my happiness and health.  I am reclaiming my health and would love to help you do the same.  I’m so excited to share my health and fitness journey with you.

Meet powerbuilder, Ali Fowler…. A 31-year-old Mom of 2 beautiful daughters, diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis when she was 24-years-old.  She lives in Salt Lake City, UT and works hard as a Restaurant Manager to provide for her family. She is a cheer and softball Mom who loves spending time with her girls.  

Before she was diagnosed, Ali was hospitalized for what she thought was an ongoing knee injury caused by running.  While in the hospital the doctor noticed the size of her ankles doubling in size… he immediately ordered blood work which pointed to something more concerning.  Ali was then directed to see a specialist and who determined she had RA. She was told to discontinue running and all impact exercises. She also had to stop managing a garden center nearby.  

Life changed significantly for Ali after her diagnosis.  She spent the next 4 years going on and off a mostly vegan diet – pretending to be “fine” while silently fighting flare ups.  Her hands looked like a 90-year-old woman’s and symptoms were difficult to manage. Changes within her family structure had also caused stress in her life – and after her divorce Ali decided to hit the weight room rather than crash dieting.  She also quit drinking alcohol at this time. Ali has worked hard to remove all negativity- toxic people and negativity had no room in her battle against RA.
