  • Anyone else sometimes get caught up in wondering what other people think of you?
I have worked on this a ton this past year - and continue to work on it. I've never been someone to not give a shiz about what someone thought of me. In fact, I was quite the opposite. I cared too much about what others thought. 🤷‍♀️ It would prevent me from doing things I wanted to do, going places I wanted to go, saying what was on my mind, and reaching my goals.
Until I got very real about it... and started to really dive into the "why" behind it. Why was I such a people pleaser? It boiled down to one very hard truth.... I didn't love myself enough. 🙈

That's it. Truth. Took me a long time to realize that, but it's true. I was so busy worrying about what other people's opinions of me were that I stopped working on the one opinion that mattered most.... MINE. 🎯

So dive into your why behind that approving seeking crap - pull up your big pants and dive into the real reasons you feel like you aren't "enough." You are, enough. You are. 👊

And you've most likely got a long road ahead if you value other's opinions of yourself more than your own. But that's ok. Just start the process, you'll get there.
Your opinion of me and what I am doing in my life matters to me, but not in a paralyzing way at all. Instead, I use those opinions to give me information... If someone is negative or condescending... um, bye felicia.
If someone is positive and encouraging.... let's spend more time together!
It's as simple as that.
Here's to Self-Care Sunday..... look in the mirror and give yourself a great big wink cuz my friend, you are awesome! 💃

xoxo
  • What do ya do when you’re waiting for about 40 kids to enter into @fitkidsfactory.... ya pose for a selfie! Why??? Because I am so very blessed to be following my passion, serving others, and making an impact in the lives of others. So I had to pause and smile... I am so thankful that I followed my passion and listened to that curious voice in my gut. 👊That “what if” that never quite settled.... yep, this smoke is a reflection of me taking a leap of faith, trusting God’s purpose, being obedient, and doing the hard work.💪💜 I hope you are pausing to smile today, too! #rawarrior

  • Ever really think about this? Who is the army that God has sent out for you? Family? Friends?
There is nowhere I will go that I will ever be alone. (even in the bathroom, cuz well.... mama'n ya know)

God loves me so much that he'd send out an army for me. Let that sink in. Chew on that for a few. Me. This imperfect hot mess Mama, He'd do that for me. And he has.
And He does it for you.
My prayer today is for those who feel alone,
those who feel as if they aren't worth that grace, that love, that relationship.... my prayer is that your army surrounds you today. #rawarrior #godslove

  • What is ONE thing you will commit to do TODAY to take care of yourself?
ONE THING. Let's start there. One thing you can do today to be better than yesterday...... drop it below👇

I'll start. Yesterday, in the "taking care of everyone else" (Addi has the flu, Charlie is just getting over it, and Quinn is beside himself that his 2 playbuddies aren't able to play) I didn't keep up on my water intake.
As Moms we often forget about simple things like that, eh? Yep. I was a master of rubbing vicks on her chest, rotating cold washcloths on her forehead, making homemade chicken noodle soup, refilling the essential oils in the diffuser, spraying things with lysol, cleaning door handles and light switches, rubbing feet, making "beds" in different rooms, washing bedding and anything else she and Charlie touched, getting fresh water, warming up apple juice, running to the store for more fresh ginger to add into her ginger ale, timing medication so she got good rest, etc.... Like, seriously? Yep. All of THAT👆 while still making time to create a basketball Valentine's Day box with Quinn, running to the store for items for his box, playing several rounds of basketball in his room, making 3 batches of slime, having 287 wrestling matches with his guys (maybe only 286), helping him shower, getting him ready for his basketball game....and many other things I'm guessing I've forgot to mention.
All of that.... PLUS managing 2 dogs and a hubby.
Yes, all of that. I could do ALL of that yesterday, with only about 4.5 hours of sleep the night before. All of that while not feeling the greatest myself. Because I LOVE all of them... with my whole heart. And so I take care of them. I poured all of me into all of them yesterday just like so many other mamas do daily.
I could remember all of that, but couldn't even remember to drink ALL of my water for the day? REALLY??? 🤷‍♀️ There is no doubt that we often forget about the simple things when taking care of others. So today I commit to taking better care of me by starting with my water intake! *I will drink ALL of my water today.
  • Sometimes we forget that God wants us to love ourselves just as we love our neighbors. I firmly believe that means He EXPECTS us to take care of ourselves in the same manner we would take care of a stranger, a friend, a family member.
You wouldn't give someone else crap food to eat. 🤢
You wouldn't prevent someone else from getting good rest. 😴
You wouldn't refuse to give them water. 💦
You wouldn't tell them not to move their bodies daily. 💪

Loving ourselves as we would our neighbors also means we DON'T do these things ourselves. It is not selfish.
Loving ourselves is expected. It is required. It is non-negotiable if we are carrying out God's work. 💜

I said it. Yep. It is expected. He expects that we love ourselves as we love others - and that means that we are also taking care of ourselves as we would take care of another person we love.
So let's lean into that today. Let's start this morning. Let's do all we can to be better at loving ourselves. Not in a boastful manner. 🤫Not in a selfish manner. 😘 Not in a prideful manner. 🤭

But in the way that God expects and desires us to.💜👊 #rawarrior
